We have chosen to be an exclusive "pick your own" because our goal is to encourage an experience in nature by picking your own fruit. During the 2016 season, we are pleased to offer several wonderful varieties of black raspberries and two thornless blackberries (Chester and Triple Crown). The bramble area has 300 ft beds that are marked as to their content. The blueberry field contains 21 varieties of high bush blueberries that mature over a period of months. Patrons are welcome to venture into both fields in search of the perfect berry. Remember to come early to get the best berries.
This year, we are pleased to host limited student educational events that encourage the sharing of knowledge about organic farming. These visits will include botany unit excursions conducted by the Maryland STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) program for middle and high school students. If you are an educator interested in incorporating our farm into your students' biology education program, please call us at 443-902-0370. We also sponsor scout outings and special events such as the military family day on the farm. This is our small way of promoting education in the biological sciences, especially for the children.
We look forward to you and your family visiting the farm in 2016.
